Participation in the presentation competition is open to professional musicians under 36 years old who play a wind instrument and are in a band together. These bands should consist of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 15 wind players. If necessary, a band can be supplemented with other instruments, as long as the wind players form the majority. Special presenters/actors may be added.

During the competition there are three target groups:

• a children’s concert in the Small Auditorium of De Oosterpoort
• a concert on a special venue in the city of Groningen
• a concert to an existing audience in the Oosterpoort
